Stick-Em is a game of mock elimination for a large number of players. Each person has to try to survive the attempts of others to "stick" them while eliminating their own targets. The last person to be left alive is, not surprisingly, declared the winner. The object of this game is to raise money for summer missions (that is why certain elements cost $) while having a lot of fun. If you have any questions about these rules, once you have read them thoroughly, please ask for clarification from the Umpire, who will be only too happy to provide it.Signing Up for the game:
Email the Game Umpire (blake.hardcastle@gmail.com) the following Information:
Your game alias (we don’t want people knowing who potential attackers are) & real name, Your class schedule, Your Work location and schedule
Give $5 donation to Summer Missions for your buy in.
The game, in brief:
• Before the game starts, send an e-mail to the Umpire as described above, informing him that you wish to take part in the game. Email will be the primary mode by which information is passed between players and the Umpire. The Umpire can be reached at blake.hardcastle@gmail.com
• When the game starts, you will be sent an e-mail with the name of your target. Try to knock them him or her by using your stickers.
• Whenever you make an attempt on another player's life, whether or not you succeed, e-mail the Umpire with a report. If someone tries to stick you, report that to the Umpire as well. Basically when anything happens concerning the game inform the Umpire.
• When your target is eliminates, whether it was you or someone else who stuck them, the Umpire will send you a new target to replace them. In this way every live player will always have a target at any given time.
• If you die, send a report of this to the Umpire. The game is now over for you, although you could have a resurrection (see below).
• If you do not die (perhaps twice), congratulations! You have won the game.
Umpire Authority
The game Umpire holds ultimate authority. All decisions, rulings and changes are exclusive prerogative of the Umpire. The Umpire may make an adjustment to the game at any time. Since this is our first elimination Gam you can expect a few of these. All official communication from the Umpire will be made either on the game blog (http://bsmstickem.blogspot.com) or via email. Impersonating the Umpire in any way will result in being placed on the highest level of incompetence.
Your Target
Your target is the person you are currently assigned to eliminate. When you eliminate your target, you will be assigned a new target. When the game begins, you will be sent an e-mail which contains your target’s information (name and email address). You will be given a new target within 24 hours of a valid reported elimination.
Killing
You can eliminate a person only by successfully hitting his/her torso with a shot from your water gun. Shots to the head, arms or below the waste do not count and will be considered poor sportsmanship. If a history of non-torso shots becomes part of your MO (i.e. the shoot in the ear killer) you could be in danger of placement on the incompetence list.
All STICKS, (and attempts) must be reported to the Umpire with in 24hrs (including a paragraph of how the deed was done to make the Umpire, and the blog readers, happy). A person is not actually out of the game until the Umpire confirms the sticking. All eliminations will be publicly confirmed on the daily game blog. Once a kill has been confirmed, the Umpire will give the player a new target. The player will NOT accept the target of the person they eliminated. If you are eliminated, once the Umpire has confirmed your demise, you have 12 hours to choose to depart from the game or request a one-time resurrection.
Resurrection
When you are killed by an player you may request a resurrection which means you come back alive in the game. Resurrections will cost $5 and will only be offered one time. Once resurrected you will receive a new target, (and will also be given to another player as a target).
Protecting Yourself
If, and only if, you notice your targeter holding a weapon (sheet of stickers) and making a move to attack you or get near you (regardless of whether you are in a safe zone at the time), then you may eliminate that assassin at any time in the future. If you succeed, it is called a “defensive elimination.” All the rules that apply to regular elimination also apply to defensive elimination.
Outside Assistance
No one is allowed to atack your target but you. The exceptions are the incompetence list and bounties (see below). Others may ’’take bullets’’ for you but they cannot actually kill anyone.
Weapons
Standard sticker – about the size of a a half dollar.
Minis - about the size of a dime
Bumper sticker - big enough for a car, can fit half way around someone's head.
Safe Zones
Safe Zones are areas in which you cannot eliminate or be eliminated by anyone. If someone attempts to eliminate you in a safe zone, please inform him that you are in a safe zone and that their ’’elimination’’ is invalid. You must have both feet in a safe zone to be ‘in’ the safe zone.
Safe Zones Include:
• Places where class is in session (the room/area is only safe as long as a professor or TA is present)
• The BSM Property (fenced back and side yard to the street and bricks).
• BSM events (Tuesday night, small groups, etc)
• Player’s living space (exception: if you invite your opponent into your room, it is no longer a safe zone)
• Bathrooms (both feet must be in the bathroom – i.e. you may attack into or out of a bathroom)
• Places of worship
• Places of Work (You must actually be working)
• If you are not sure if something is a safe zone contact the Umpire for clarification
Competence (Incompetence List)
Each player must make (and report) an attempt upon their target with in 72 hours (we strongly encourage all players to report their eliminations as soon as possible so the game can run smoothly) of receiving their name. If a satisfactory attempt is not made you will be place on the Incompetent Sticker List. This list is published daily. All persons on the list become an open target for all players. The list is updated daily on the game blog. You can be removed form the list by making an attempt upon your target.
Bounty
In this game you can turn up the pressure upon a player by purchasing a bounty on them. If a bounty is placed on a player everyone in the game will be notified that the player is a valid target. Bounties can be purchased for $5/3hour. The Umpire must be contacted with the bounty request and the target may only be eliminated during the time frame of the bounty.
Intelligence Report
A player may request an intelligence report upon their target. This report will consist of their class schedule and work schedule. It can be procured via the Umpire with a $5 donation.
